Learning how to build network marketing with social media is not always as simple as it sounds.
In fact, many network marketers are getting it completely wrong when it comes to building an empire on social media.
Which makes me absolutely cringe.
You see, I used to be the upline that would teach some of these crappy strategies I’m about to tell you about.
I thought I was doing myself and my team a favor.
So as a result, I want to teach and train more effective strategies to help you in your network marketing business.
I’m hoping that you can learn from my mistakes.
And ultimately build a business better and faster.
All you have to do is learn and implement.
The first mistake I see in network marketing with social media is posting links and product pictures everywhere!
And let me be the first to say that I was the poster child for this mistake.
Every single day I would choose a product or business opportunity post and plaster it all over my social media.
EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
The problem with this strategy is that it’s pretty sales-y.
In my opinion, it’s equivalent to going to a car dealership and having the car salesman stalk you from the moment you walk in.
How would you feel if you showed up to a car dealership with slight interest in buying a car.
You wanted to get a better idea of what your options were before you decided what you even wanted.
Now let’s imagine that when you drive up, one of the car salesmen sees you coming.
As you get out of your car, he instantly locks eyes with you and starts walking your way.
You’re only here to get a better idea of what you’re looking for.
He walks up to you and asks how you are doing and if he can be of assistance.
You smile back and say, “I’m only looking today. I’m not ready to buy.”
You start to walk away towards a car you’ve been thinking about test driving.
He quickly follows you to the car, all the while spouting off facts about the car you’re looking at.
All you wanted was a nice Saturday where you could look at and sit in a few cars that you were slightly interested in.
Instead you’re getting the entire history, facts, and figures about every car that you glance at.
What a nightmare.
Ok… I exaggerated a little bit… But you’ve been there before.
With a salesperson that wouldn’t get the hint.
Well think about how your friends and family feel when you post about your product tirelessly on social media.
It’s the same concept, and it get’s kinda old.
You may have even heard from your friends that they are tired of seeing your posts.
I’ll never forget the day that I had a friend tell me that the only reason she hadn’t blocked me, was so that she could still see the posts about my life that I posted every now and then.
She told me she had already blocked her other friends that were posting their products daily.
And I can’t tell you how many other people unfriended or blocked me so they wouldn’t have to see my spammy posts.
Instead of enticing my friends and family to buy from me or join my team…
I was repelling people!
My timeline was an infomercial, and people were tuning out the channel.
You have to remember what people go to social media for.
To be SOCIAL!
That is first and foremost the focus of each of your friends.
They are not interested in being sold your product, service, or business opportunity.
And yes… I’m going to be honest with you.
I built a 6 figure business by posting spammy stuff on social media.
The problem is that my results were not duplicating in my team, AND my results were starting to dwindle.
So instead of posting every detail about your product, what if instead you posted valuable content?
Here is a rough outline of what I do.
I post about my life, ask engaging questions of my audience, share helpful tips, and connect with others.
I do all of those things 80% of the time.
So what this means is that if I post 10 times, 8 of those posts will be a great way to get to know me and connect with me.
Here is where I promote my business or product.
But I do it in such a way, that my audience doesn’t necessarily know that I am promoting my business.
I create what I like to call “curiosity posts” that draws my reader in.
In these curiosity posts, I provide valuable content that solves a problem.
So if I can help to solve the problems of my prospects, then I’m one step closer to having them reach out to me for the solution.
Network marketing is all about solving other people’s problems.
The better problem solvers create bigger and better teams!
Hopefully that makes sense and gives you a place to get started.
This mistake I’m about to mention is quite possibly worse than the first one I just mentioned here.
I personally think it’s one of the main reasons that network marketing has such a bad name.
And frankly, I’m appalled that it’s still taught to new network marketers today.
But I guess I can’t judge too harshly.
I taught it to my downlines as well.
If there is one thing that makes my skin crawl, it’s when someone will friend request me and then immediately plug their business.
It comes across needy, pushy, and spammy.
The problem with this technique is that people can see right through it.
And with the amount of network marketers that have done it over the years, people are getting REALLY tired of it.
My strategy back in the day was to friend request people and say hello.
After I did that, I let the conversation die.
But I would keep a mental note of who they were.
At that point I would cross my fingers and hope that they saw my product and opportunity posts on my wall.
I would let this happen for about a week, and then I would send some kind of message asking them if they would look at my product.
I had this hidden agenda that ultimately made me feel icky, and got me unfriended and blocked along the way.
Maybe you have found yourself here before.
And chances are, you are looking for a better way to actually build the empire you deserve.
Well, lucky for you, I have some really great answers to your social media woes.
The first thing I ask myself BEFORE I friend request ANYONE on social media is, “Are they my target audience?”
What do I mean by this?
Well every single company has a perfect target audience.
Let’s give Nike as an example.
Nike’s target audience is someone that is into fitness.
They are interested in taking care of their bodies.
Maybe they work out, go to the gym, run, eat healthy. You know what I mean.
When I create my perfect target audience, I ask myself, “Who is already looking for what I have to offer in my business?”
Because only you know your business inside and out.
You will want to research:
In this YouTube video, I actually give you ways to grow your audience online and what it can do for you.
So once you have this nailed down, you can actually start friend requesting your perfect prospect.
It’s really not rocket science, but I know sometimes I make things harder than they have to be.
So I’m sure I’m not the only one.
It’s ok if you struggle with this at first. I did.
But I kept getting back up on that horse and asking myself who my perfect prospect was and where they hung out online.
Now… Once you make the friend request, it’s all about how you correspond with your new friend.
A huge pet peeve is when people friend request me, but then say nothing to me.
This isn’t something you would do in real life.
So how come it’s done online?
When you meet someone for the first time, it’s normal to say hello.
Now, I’m gonna be honest with you.
Building relationships online can be tricky, unless you use the right words to build rapport and then break the ice.
What’s cool is if you use the right magic words, you can capture your prospects attention immediately!
So I’m about to share my big opener when it comes to connecting with prospects online.
Now, I want to first have them speak to me.
So here is what I send them first…
I look forward to connecting with you if you’re open to it!
If they respond back, I know I’m in business.
But I NEVER force the conversation.
If someone doesn’t connect with me, it’s a signal that they might not be part of my target audience.
And that’s ok!
When they connect back with me, I do two things:
So let me explain…
Say you have a product that helps with weight loss.
And let’s say you found someone in a group on social media focused around weight loss.
What I do is ask them a question like, “ever feel like losing weight is an uphill battle?”
I want to get my prospect to agree with me.
If they do, I just built rapport with them and got them talking about a problem that I can solve. BOOM!
Network marketing with social media doesn’t have to be difficult.
Most of the time, network marketers jump straight to the solution without even addressing the problem.
This is the reason for the struggles when it comes to connecting with people online.
But not you anymore!
Do you think you can implement these strategies in your business now?
One in which you have your perfect prospects coming TO YOU!
Where you don’t have to constantly post about your product, send friend requests, or start off the conversation with prospects.
Where you can actually have people starting the conversation with you.
Asking you about your product, service, or business.
Would that be cool?
Well listen, this online recruiting bootcamp can help get you started down the road where you become the hunted instead of the hunter in your business.
The best part is, you can start creating 10-15 leads everyday that are reaching out to you.
So what are you still doing over here?
